Making the The Hairless Woman-check it out May 2nd

Recently I had the great opportunity to make a documentary film about my dear old friend Peter Bufano. He used to be a clown and now he is a circus musician. He was doing a 24 hour CD marathon in which he was going to compose and record with 4 other musicians a complete CD of 10 circus songs in a 24 hour period. He put the project on KICKSTARTER, gathered song titles from his fan base, and raised the money for the project. He was looking for a filmmaker to document the day.

I told him I wouldn't stay up for 24 hours but I would interview him before, after and film during pieces of the day and night. He and his partner Camila and some of the members of the band filmed with their phones, computers, and video cameras and Peter's cousin Peter took beautiful black and white photographs throughout the 24 hour period. I had some old footage on super 8 film of Peter as a young clown-in Ringling Brothers Barnum and Baily Circus on stage and at the Children's Museum in Boston-lying around since the 80's as well. I was able to put all the media together to create a document of the event as well as a charming and funny portrait of Peter Bufano.

The CD is called "The Hairless Woman" and is available at hairlesswoman.com
The Film is called "Making the Hairless Woman" and will be debuted at MassArt Film Society on May 2nd with more film and performance by Circus Mirage and Peter's band Cirkestra.
